What I mean by drainage is that after the necrotic skin was removed I had a small area on each incision (approx. 1/4 inch right side, 1/2 inch left side) that would not close. It kept oozing this clear yellow drainage. I had to put a small piece of gauze on them so they didn't get my clothes all wet. I knew they were not infected though because, and I know this sounds gross, but there was no foul odor. It just took me forever to heal and the incisions to close completly. My surgeon finally told me "it will heal or it won't". Very encouraging right? I think these plastic surgeons get upset when their work does not come out the way they think it should. Like it's our fault or something. But thank heavens that mine did finally heal. I am praying that yours does too and real soon. This whole cancer thing sucks.........happy healing!
