Good for you Kathy!!!!! What a relief it must be to be finished with chemo! Whew!
May I ask, why do you need radiation if you are getting a mastectomy? I had the choice of lumpectomy with rads or mastectomy unless there was lymph node involvement. Then I would have had to have rads. Fortunately the 4 nodes they checked were all clear. Have they checked your nodes already? Or do you have a different form of cancer? I have Invasive Ductal Carcinoma.
I can see how it would be very difficult to have a DD (that was what I was pre mastectomy) on one side for a year but I guess there are mastectomy bras and prosthesis that would help with that.
As far as removing both and the cosmetic results...I don't really know.
I wish I could be more helpful but I am sure there are many gals here that could make some useful suggestions.
So happy you do have a plan in place though!!!! And chemo is DONE! Yahooooooooooooo!!!
