Deb, I just had my exchanges done 2 weeks ago and it was so different than doing the mastectomy! And what a relief with these implants in. You will feel so much better.The surgeon came in before the surgery and I reminded him about the port...another thing gone that is such a relief..but he had it on his chart already. I reminded the nurses too about not taking my blood pressure on my left arm and they put an orange band on that arm.
I just went for a followup visit and the surgeon asked me if I had slept on my side yet. So he hears it all about how uncomfortable these expanders are.
It is a new part in your body but remember the cancer is gone and this is something for yourself.
