Did your surgeon give you any handouts on exercise, pain management? If not, I would certainly speak to that issue. I know exercise after node removal is critical. I would also ask why you weren't told you could use ice! The use of ice after many surgical procedures (lumpectomies for one!) is universal. It makes my blood boil that you had to suffer when a little ice could have made a lot of difference.
