Rosanne, it's really a shame you weren't told about ice. You should easily be able to use ice (for about 15 minutes at a time) without any problems at all. Ice is the cure-all for inflamation which is probbaly what you are experiencing. I had a lumpectomy and nodes removed and was told to use ice whenever I experienced any pain. It helped more than drugs!
