I asked the surgeon about therapy for my tightness...it was like having a bra on that was way too tight...and the therapy helped.
They had me to stand in the doorway with my hands on both sides of the door frame and step one foot out(like you were going out of the door). This brings your body forward. I counted to 5 and switched to the other side. I do these several times a day and really does help.
Also, put your left hand on your right elbow and push it over your shoulder gently. Switch and do the other elbow.
They also gave me a rubber band(thick like a cloth) and had me to hold the ends and pull.I hold that for 5 counts.
The therapist said to use the pulley that I was given when I had my mastectomy at the hospital and to set in a chair facing outwards and do the pulls with it.
Hope everyone understands what I'm saying. It really does make a big difference. Hugs,Ruby
