Hello,
I had a double mastectomy in May and am scheduled to have a DIEP reconstruction surgery in March at the Mayo Clinic. I did a lot of research and decided that this was the best way for me. I didn't really want implants as I preferred not to have a foreign body inside me plus the length of time. I researched having a transflap surgery but found that they take stomach muscle and I have severe back problems so losing any abdominal muscle wouldn't work for me so I decided to have the DIEP. I am looking for ANYONE who has had this surgery and can share their experiences with me. I would be so grateful as I would like to speak with as many people as possible about the surgery, problems, recovery issues, etc. Thank you so much
