No sense in worrying, Jeri. Just call on Monday and INSIST on making an appointment to see him/her in person. After that appointment (no matter how it goes) make a formal complaint with the hospital. I wouldn't go back to a surgeon who treated me like that. It's probably that he has no bedside manner. I'm sure all is OK.
I would get my records after the appointment and have remaining followups with a different surgeon.
