Boy bryan you are a great son. I had a single mast after lumpectomy then I also had to have a third surgery the lymp nodes removed. My surgeon did what they call a block and sent me home with oxy-cotton. Believer it or not it was just day surgery. I never had any pain. I had a drain that you just have to measure how much output there is for about a week. Every person is different. I never was a large size as far as my breasts were concerned.
I have always felt my life is not my boob. I was sad and cried the first few times I saw it gone. I am here. I am now doing chemo and then radiation to make sure I will be here. There is a chat room that you can go into that have helpful women to chat with that have been through this whole darn experience. I will say a prayer for your mom. If she does have the cancer then she needs to get it done before it spreads - not to scare you. My surgeon said 100 days but mine went to one node so sooner the better...I hope this helps. I wll be praying for your mom to make the right choice. She is very blessed to have you...
Hey, and tell her about all her new great friends she can chat here with!
