I'm not much good with remembering science things, but here is my general impression of her2. The tumors that have this are more aggressive, but the great thing is that there is a relatively new drug called herceptin that was created just for her2 tumors. It is one of the new cancer drugs that are giving us all so much new hope. There has been a lot of press about it, which you'll be able to google real easily. People usually get it for a year, sometimes with chemo and rads too. It targets just the her2 cancer cells, so it doesn't have as many side effects as chemo, and it works beautifully at killing those aggressive cancer cells. Herceptin is the her2 girls' saving grace, and it's what people are talking about when they say" there are so many new cancer treatments now". What kind of treatment is your doc recommending? Have you had your surgery yet?
