Wow -- guess we're in the same boat. I'm scheduled to have my nipple surgery done in about 3hrs. I'm laying here in bed (trying not to think about food) seeing what others have posted about nipple construction...
My PS who's gotten me through some really rough times with my reconstruction has suggested using the existing tissue/skin to mound it and score the surrounding area for texture. She will then tattoo it for color in a few months. I have put my trust in her because she didn't let me quit when I was battling recurrent seromas and infections. It has taken us 1 yr to get to this point but I trust her totally! I've had 2 lumpectomies with bad boarders resulting in a mastectomy, 3 tissue expanders, 1 saline implant and now it's all healed and I love it! (She lifted the left also--looks great!)
I'll put it in God's hands to guide hers well.
Faith, Family and Friends....will carry me through.
