My "turtle shell" Expander was a nightmare x 3. Yes, I ended up with 3 expanders before I got my final implant on Apr.20th. 1st TE leaked when I got about 350/400ml in it. 2nd was removed due to infection and seroma... 3rd one was a keeper. My 2nd TE was floating due to the ongoing problem I had with a seroma (fluid filled tumor - sac) I developed so much fluid around the expander that one night I went to get up from my couch and "Flipped" it over (Back to front!!) I felt it as the muscles tightend up as I pushed up from the couch - it bothered me that night and I went to the PS the next am - she had me pull a "crunch" (sit up) and it flipped part way back and she manually finshed flipping it -- it didn't hurt - just felt weird. When she went to find the "fill port" with the magnet--it was at the bottom between 6 & 7 o'clock. As it turned out I developed a nasty infection and cellulitis so they had to remove it and I did an extended course of IV Daptomycin and had the TE replaced 8 wks later with a new "Mentor TE" that had anchor tabs. It did the trick and now I'm sporting a new pretty saline implant and a lifted left. I'm happy!
Rotation wasn't a big deal- just made the next couple fills tricky...but that's what the magnet is for!!
Good Luck-
