The main thing to worry about, with the "tram" is using the abdominal muscles to soon and too much, so that may sway your decision towards the implants. I went back to work and started working out, after I got the drains out, which I think was two weeks. I ended up with a hernia and had to have another surgery. I had to wear something like a corset and be on a five pound weight limit, for six weeks, afterward. That part liked to have killed me. I am still very cautious, almost 5 months later. I still don't do any crunches or anything that might work my abs, too intensely. I do a lot of bike riding and working my arms. But it is very definitely a slow process, so you would probably lose some of your core muscle strength. You might want to consider some reduction, in order to do the tram flap, if you choose to go that route.
