My original surgery was for a 2.4cm mass in the upper outer quadrant. Lumpectomy was done, at which time they "cut into" DCIS - it was thru the border and I had to have a re-excision to widen the border. I have read this occurs in about 1/3 of breast surgeries. I hope your re-excision is a total success! Best of luck & our prayers will be with you!
