I had 2 expanders and later 2 implants, but neither set was level on my chest. I now pay $50 each for a VERY padded underwire bra at Victoria Secrets and it lifts the lower one up to the higher one and I look ok in my clothes. I know what you're saying about the expanders being painful in a bra, but when you do get your implants and the surgery is healed up a bit, you will be more comfortable in a bra, even an underwire, because the implants are softer than the expanders and they move a little more freely.

As for a dress for you son's wedding, I think I would look for something with a light jacket, which would accomplish the same thing as your tee shirt and unbottoned shirt. Best of luck to you with finding something to wear.
