Hey, all, I know I'm jumping ahead of myself, but now that my drain is out (thank G-d!) and I'm feeling soooo much better, I can stop to cry over the little things.
I hinted at a question about reconstruction to my surgeon before the mastectomy, to which I was told that because of my small size, I do not have enough tissue, nor are there any extenders that are made small enough for me.
While I'm not sure that I could have gone through a more extensive surgery, and am positive they would not try it with me in the future, since I had so much difficulty with the weight of the plastic drain--how can I ever handle a prosthesis!?!!?!
I know I don't NEED to do one--at 4'3" tall and 44 lbs, it isn't like I don't get the stares every day anyways, not to mention that until about last year I couldn't even fit into a training bra.
Oh, help--I'm young, and too stupidly vain for the body I've already had to deal with all my life
