I'm having double mastectomy with reconstruction in 13 days. I am a caterer by profession and am extremely active at work - lots of lifting, pushing, pulling - and have a great team working for me who are more that willing to do all that for me.
My question is how long will I really be out of it? I have two very large jobs to see to on the 18th and the 19th. Is is unrealistic to expect I can at least supervise these events for my staff? Will I be able to have a clear enough head to direct a billion litte details or will the pain meds mess me up.I
I'm probably more stressed about the inability to perform my contracts than anything at this stage. December is a really bad time to have cancer if you are a caterer! I have 7 employees who rely on me for their incomes and I am the sole support of my family so that is what bothers me - not whether or not someone has to be fed by another caterer.
I've been told only one night in hospital on Friday and can expect to be back at work on Monday. Please tell me that's true!
