I had a failed expander due to radiated skin. Not the same as your problem but I had to consider stopping the process or picking another option. My plastic surgeon was very helpful. I choose a lat flap which keeps its blood supply when transfered. The surgery is not as long as diep and not micro surgery.
I didn't have enough back fat to make a new breast so I have had to have this expanded also.
It is going slowly but very good results.
I would see your PS and ask what your options are.
Can they cut the scar tissue? Can they add a small implant?
