I read your post below about a nipple and skin sparing mastectomy. I had this done 5 1/2 years ago. I was diappointed at the nipple. My nipples were taken off and as much as the tissue behind them as possible scraped away. They were then re-attached.
The result is as good as it could be but the nipples don't look like nipples anymore. They are flat and look like disks. This is very hard to explain but they aren't puckered and because they are flat they look very big.
Keeping my nipples was very important to me but I just want to warn you that they won't look "real" after the surgery.
