i consider the shrinkage from radiation, the loss of skin, the almost loss of the nipple from burning, damage to my breast. the female PS's were condensending, I beleive it was because they did not like their own breasts and assumed i was like them. My breasts were the only part of my body I liked. One female PS went as far as to say..your husband will be glad you just have some kind of breast. I am single and have been for 13 yrs, looking at myself in the mirror made me sick. I did go to a seminar on breast reduction, and when i said why i was there, the 4 male PS's who were there all said...you dont need reduction, you need reconstruction. this was without examining me. I found the males much more understanding. Maybe it is because they like breasts??? LOL I would sure see more than one doc though, for an opinion. Look on

this is actually a great site with explainations.
i did not have to see any kind of therapist at all before surgery. no one tried to talk me out of it, nor did i have to explore any feelings about it. I did not even know you had to do that.
