I had a double tram July 19, 2007. I did chemo in the fall, radiation in the spring, had a donor site repair surgery (double herniated abs), and caught C-Dif which cost me 16 days in the hospital and the loss of most of my energy and some pretty serious pain. I still have chest pain 13 months after surgery, and am taking pain meds. My oncologist wants me to wean off the pain med, which I also want, but I afraid that this pain is not going to go away. On the other hand, it may hurt because I have not had any breaks from treatment, surgery, or illness just to allow it to heal. My chest looks and feels fine, and the ps says there is no operation for pain. Has anyone had this happen and how did you handle it?
Thanks, Jan
