It's now Day 10 post surgery...one drain is out and the other is still in and hoping it comes out soon...it's stay at 30-35 cc/day and the nurse won't remove it until it is <30cc/day x 2 consecutive days.
I am hoping to hear about the sensation you feel in your armpit area and how long this lasts. I had an axillary node dissection. I started my exercise last week and am making sure I so them every day up to 5x a day. Maybe it's too much? they say to do it 3x a day.
anyways, the feeling is a numb/tingling sensation and my shoulder muscle tighten up when I feel it... If I don't move my arm, the feeling gets stronger... i hear it's all that nerve damage with the mastectomy/axillary node dissection.
I would love to hear others' experiences on this topic: what did you do about the sensation -- any particular strategies that worked for you? how long did it last? when did you get your full range of motion in the affected arm?
Thank you!
Anne
