Your right three months is a long time to go without fitness.
Obviously you aren't in any pain.
I had an expander put in in January under radiated skin(6 years post mastectomy) surgery was 90 minutes but during the seventh fill in my PS's office I ruptured. My next option for surgery was a lat flap with expander, surgery four to five hours, three to four day hospital stay.
Surgery went great, I was allowed to come home the next day. I was worried about the length of the surgery too, but I breezed through it.
Right now I am an A and a C. I will hide it will baggy clothes while I am being expanded.
If I had a choice to get it fixed I would. There are always risks with our choices.
I would ask what kind of physical activities are allowed while you recover. If swimming isn't one of them, then perhaps the treadmill.
Good luck with your decision
