First off make sure your car is straight and strong. ie no rust broken frame rails etc. that way you know you have a good foundation to work from. These cars were real rust buckets so make sure. If you are capable of doing the work yourself the boneyard (auto wreckers) offers a world of opportunities. Do your research and find the steepest rear end that will fit. These years were fuel economy minded with probably a 2.70 or 3.08 or something. Something allong a 3.45-3.70 would have been optional in the early 70's and would bolt right in. This would give lots of extra kick and best of all its cheap$$$. NOS can go in for a few hundred bucks and provide big hp gains but know your engine and tranny are up for it or you'll be towing it home after your first test flight. hope this helps.
