If yours is anything like mine its probobly got a 305ci. in it. If you're thinking about drag id ethier go with a 383 stroker, 327, or 454 depending on how much you want to spend a 383 can be built for dirt cheap and its going to be way lighter than the 454. The 327 will also be light but the performance parts for these motors can be spendy. The 454 will be hevier but if you have money to spendit can have outragous horsepower. I think the other idea of a different rear end would also be good, late 60s early 70s. Im doing the same thing just so I can maybe do a few stoplight drags but mainly im making it look good to show it off. Im putting a 383 stroker and a different rear end in. I also have a hurst racing transmision already in it cause the tranys also had bigger gears in there for better gas mileage. Goodluck.
