You could compete in SCCA (or NON SCCA-there's more of these!) SOLO ..or AUTOCROSS. You'd probably be in A-Mod. class if you dont completely follow the SAE rules, but what is your goal? Is it just to have fun, or are you looking to win a championship? Because if you're looking to be CHAMP, some of the A-Mod. cars are very sophisticated and take advantage of ALL the rules, which you really wouldn't be doing with this project. But if you're just looking for fun, GO FOR IT. Even an SCCA event has an A-mod class for you. Have fun!
