The Kane County Forest Preserve District, which owns the land, was planning to demolish the painted silo that was the major landmark at Meadowdale International Raceways at Carpentersville IL. An outcry from racing and local history fans got the silo a 6-month reprieve, but with a challenge to raise the money and do the work needed to make some minor repairs, paint the structure, and clear the brush and junk trees so that it will again be clearly visible from IL Hwy 31.
