The latest problems come from the new motorplex being built in Merced County, Calif. A group of "citizens against Riverside Motorsports Park" are trying to put a halt to construction of the track which is scheduled to open in 2005. The claim from the Board of Superintendents notes that at this point they are receiving letters at the rate of 20:1 against the facility opening. If anyone wants to help out, you can take a few minutes and drop a line in support of the track, to Merced County Board of Supervisors, 2222 M Street, Merced, CA 95340. Fax (209) 726-7977. HOW TO HELP
Park requires a vote from the Board of Supervisors of Merced County following the Countys review of the Environmental Impact Report, which was submitted to the County in administrative draft form on May 28, 2004.
The exact date of the vote of the Supervisors is
not known at this time. However, we encourage anyone supportive of the project to express their support in writing to the Merced County Supervisors and other elected representatives.
