I bought a Mel's ignition (distributor) for my race boat, 351 Ford N-head, 12.5-1 cr. About 550 HP and RPM range at 4500 to 8000. So far I've used Mel's distributor as a Trigger only with an MSD 6AL box. I'd like to use Mel's (Halls affect type) distributor by itself without the MSD, any advice here? Will it work? HP drop? Does anyone out there have experience with this? Or know of someone? Thanks, rod rodb63@yahoo.com
