I dont think your missing the point Andy But I do think the folk that fish this way are. I think the large majority who fish in this way are a little on the green side or not confident in their terminal end set-up. Have these guys not heard of back leads or do they have no idea how to use them? It also makes me smile when back leads are in use and the line is still tight and totally defeating the point of the back lead.
I'm a strong believer that the more tight lines on a water the more pressure it puts on the fish to feed on natural food. I have followed the trend of most true carp anglers in my area and have given up day fishing to avoid the hundred questions crew and the tight liners, I seem to catch more fish in the first 2 hours of darkness than the whole of the pool have all day. I wonder why ?
