You've got the right stuff without a doubt but most baits carp anglers would use are banned on the match circuit. I find bream and tench love trout pellets before noon in the summer and after dark(the really oily ones)I took 42 tench in 4 hours using a polaris ledger float and most of the takes were on the drop, my bloody arm ached for dayz LOL. Fish meal based boilies do the same job if used in the right situation and presentation.
But you can do some really good mixes yourself if you find any pastes or pellets are banned. Try adding fish meal to a pint of maggots in the 48 hours leading up to a match and riddle them with corn flour as normal before you set off to cover the smell up and hide your secret.
Luncheon meat specials are good too chop your meat as normal and marinade in csl for an hour or two then strain it off and use as normal.
Or use it fresh and Dip it in molasses before you ship out your pole or cast out.
For groundbaits I would and have used the following concoction with great success.
1lb dry White or brown crumb 4 oz bag of corn flour (the stuff you buy to riddle maggots with)5ml(Use medicine spoon) of betaine HCL 30ml csl 30ml of molasses 3-5ml of esterfruit or esterberry flavouring, the 3-5 ml depends on the smell of the bread before you add anything if its the really nasty smelling stuff add 5ml if you splash out on a loaf of quality then 3ml will suffice. Finally 1/2lb of crushed hemp
Method... add the betaine to the dry crumb and mix well (food mixer if possible)add the corn flour and mix until even colour throughtout the mix. Then add the rest and mix until it wont mix any more, add tap or pool water to get the required touch for clouding or balling. I have found this mix attracts all coarse species and I caught best when fishing red and white maggots or green giant nibblets over the top or simply flake or punch. Dont be over zealous with the liquid additives or it will be too strong and do more harm than good. I have used this mix on different waters all year round and caught when all others around me have blanked. Let me know how you do in your area.
