I wanna share my first experiences with my new carpool with you.
As conclusion I have to say that I like driving with my new carpool driver :-)
Anne (not original name) is 40 years old, driving an older Ford Focus with nice leather seats. She is about 1,60m height and I think about 70kg of weight.
She weared blue jeans and a white blouse. Her hair is blonde and quite short cut.
She seemed to me very symphatic from the beginning as she smiled as I entered, gave me a handshake and started to talk with me.
As she picked me up I was not surprised that she was currently lighting up a cigarette as I entered her car. The car already smelled quite smoky so I guess she already lit her seond of the day. I could see several full and als empty packs of Marlboro lights 100s in the car. In the backseats her 2 little daughters were sitting. Klara, 8 years old and Vanessa, 10 years old. (both names not original).
They both also greeted my very sympathically and we drove off. Anne smoked with windows up and we brought the kids to school. I had the feeling that both were quite used to the quite intense smoke around them in the car. They all were talking a lot with her mother and also myself - the whole atmosphere was very nice.
After we dropped them off, Anne immediately lit another cigarette. She always takes very long cheekhollowing drags and holds the smoke for quite a while. Then she would exhale while talking or also do some very nice nose exhales or just do some long exhales straight to the windshield. She is a real smoker who is fully addicted and seems to love it !
She told me that I seem to be very sympathic. We had a lot to talk about and so, the 1 hrs ride to the company was very nice. She smoked around 6 cigarettes always with windows up. I have to say that I really really felt good in there. Not only because of the second hand smoke that I love - also because we just understood each other very good. She told me that she did not want to scare me by asking if I had some problems with her smoking during our first phone contact.She just said that she made some very bad experiences with antis in the past and so it is very important for her that the one who drives with her fully accepts her smoking.
So, she said she is really happy that I even don't mind smoking with windows up.
She is working in a department which is located in another building than mine and our working hours are quite the same. We talked a lot about the work and the company and so on. She is married to Horst who is 45 years old. He is also a smoker and they seem to be very happy together - at least this was my impression.
Concerning smoking we also talked a lot and she seemed to feel very comfortable to talk about it. She told me that she started smoking at age 12 and it was a very hard time for her because her parents are non smokers.....
She smokes quite heavily especially in the car before and after work because during work she can not go out for smoking too often. That's why she often chains during the ride to work.
She loves her Marlboro lights 100s which she smokes since she started. I asked her why she does not wanna switch to the reds e.g. and she replied that she was also thinking of this but she just did not tried yet...She smokes around 1-2 ppd during the week and around 2-3ppd during weekends. Her kids do not mind her smoking at all she said they are just used to it.
So, after work we had the same very nice drive back,Anne smoking all the time :-) We both agreed that our carsharing is a nice thing and that we will go on with it !
I am really very happy that I found a carsharing partner at all. And for sure, it is much nicer that we both feel sympathic and....for sure I like it that she is a smoker....would lie if I deny this :-)
My girlfriend also feels fine with this she just does not like the smoky smell on my clothes when I come home - I do not understand this :-)
