Hello again,
well, I took the invitation of the smoking mother. She lives with her little child and her husband around 4km away from me.
When I arrrived, I brought some chocolate cake with me and a little bear for the kid as a present. They live in a apartment at the top level of the house, round about 80 square metres. The kid has its own room. The interieur looks very stilish with a black leather couch in the living room and leather chairs in the dining room. As I entered the apartment there it was - the smell of heavy smoking people who seem to live hear. There where at least one big ashtray in every single room, the curtains were not that yellow but you could see that they lived and smoked here for quite a while. When I entered, the little kid came towards me, followd by her mother and father, each a cigarette in their hand. Ther mother just exhaled on me and doiwn on her daughter when they opened the door. Antje, the kid was very happy about the teddy bear,I brought her, her mother,Silke, and her father,Bernd were happy to see me. It turned out that Silke is 36 and Bernd is 40. Antje just had her 3rd birthday.
As I already described,Silke is a very heavy Davidoff smoker,Bernd smokes only Gauleoises blue. She is about 3ppd,he is only about 2ppd.
So,little Antje has to cope wioth the smoke of around 5ppd from her parents.
When we drank coffee, Silke placed Antje in her baby seat next to the table and it could be seen that Antje would have rather played a bit instead of having to have cake with us. Anyway she was blaming, Silke sat her down, lighting a cigarette, took a deep drag and exhaled directly in Antjes face. She did it again and again until the kid calmed down a bit. She told me that Antje has to learn to behave and to sit calm with her parents on the table. She told me that she has the feeling that the smoke helps sometimes to calm her down. It really could be seen that the kid was calm now. We talked a little bit and they told me that they are both very happy that I am so tolerant concerning their heavy smoking about their kid because they just have some few friends who understand and support this. They told me as well that smoking is their life and that they will never try to cut down and that it is extremely important for them that their friends and especially their kids will never ever blame them for their smoking,. That is the other reason why they smoke steadily around them and also exhale regularly on them. After coffee and a lot of cigarettes they showed me their apartment and also Antjes little room. Even there was a huge ashtray with at least 20 cigarette butts inside. For sure, it was placed in a height, where Antje could never reach it. They told me that they would for sure also smoke in her room, e.g. when they bring her to bed, changing her diapers ...
I have to say that I never met such nice, heavy smoking people. Except for their very unconvenient kind of education they seem to be really loving parents. If Antje behaves, they are really lovely with her, they never cried very loud on her, they often take her on their lap (for sure,also smoking and exhaling on her), take her in their arms,kissing her and so on.
I left after a few hours the very smoke clouded apartment and we fixed,that we want to stay in contact and meet again. I plan to visit them tomorrow in the evening for dinner.
