last week while waiting for my wife to come out of the supermarket, I noticed a thick exhale from the passenger seat of a new Mercedes SUV. I could not see inside since the windows were semi tinted, and it was just getting dark out.
Next, I see the rear window crack open a bit, and another exhale, and ashing going on back there also.
It was a tit for tat show going on until the butts were tossed out the windows at about the same time.
The back door now pops open,and a girl no more than 12 gets out. She even had a hairband you know, the little girl deal going on. Next the other back seat door opened, and her sister about 14 steps out. Mom sitting in the passenger seat is now talking to both girls outside the car. Next thing.. the older sister is pushing the young smoker around in a shopping cart. Little sister was laughing so much that she started to cough...a raspy smokers cough. Mom, a 40 ish brunette who looked like a classy housewife told them to get back in the car, and to stop messing around etc.
They got back in. Another cig for mom and little sis, no sign of older sis smoking, but I did not have a clear view of the car on her side.
Dad came out of supermarket, got in, and the show drove off. It was like the mother did not let her smoke outside the tinted windows. I have not seen this since the 80s. The town was Ridgefield CT. a very rich,well to do town.
