I saw an 8-ish year old girl smoking in a Shoney's in Lexington, KY a few years ago. She was pretty experienced, too, so she had been smoking at least a few months. The entire family was smoking, in fact, and none of the patrons seemed too concerned by it. (There were also two boys in the family, one maybe 16 and one maybe 13).
