Here's the next batch....
#25. Another stunner from 2004, a year where I had a number of memorable sightings. This GORGEOUS 18-ish brunette sitting on a bench making a cell phone call near the DNR building. In one hand was her cell phone....in the other hand was her freshly-lit Marlboro Light. I wasn't gonna miss this even though there was no good place to stand and watch. Luckily, she was too engrossed in her phone call (and her cigarette) to notice me lurking. There she sat, dragging intensely and releasing her exhales in tight, well-practiced plumes while talking. If only the location wasn't so awkward, I would have stood there to watch her finish the cigarette.
#24. In 2002, I went to get some cheese curds and decided to sit outside the food building to observe the local smoker traffic. Sitting near me were two groups. One of these groups was a young, preppy looking couple in their early 20s enjoying their meal....and the other was a group of alternative-type teenagers with orange hair and goofy baggy pants. I kept looking the direction to see if the girls in the "freaky" group would light up and expected them to do so, always keeping the attractive girl and her GQ boyfriend as possible, but unlikely, suspects for potential tobacco consumption. Well, the orange hair crowd never did light up, but the preppy young guy and girl did! Damn, was it hot when this attractive young couple stood up and walked away with smoldering cigarettes between their fingers.
#23. My favorite sighting from the generally disappointing 2005 State Fair safari. I scored it near the grandstand, which turned out to be a very productive spot that day, around 5:00. Here sits three members of a family (or at least I assume they were a family).....a father on one end, a 18-19 son on the other end, and sandwiched in between a petite and classy-looking blonde girl. Father and daughter were smoking. I was really getting off on this sighting in the beginning because the daughter was so tiny I thought she was only about 13 or 14. The father very clearly noticed I was watching them, so I had to be as subtle as possible and had a hard time observing specifics like the intensity of inhales and the thickness of exhales, but I could tell the girl was not a novice smoker. All of the sudden, a middle-aged woman with a cigarette starts walking their direction, and the father waves. It was clearly the mother of the household. I thought it was cute that the only family member who appeared not to be a smoker was the older son. Anyway, the four of them got up and started walking away. The girl still had her cigarette and proceeded to dangle it for several moments before walking not too far away from me. Taking a closer look, she appeared a little older than I originally thought and was probably 16 or 17 rather than 13 or 14. Definite the best sighting from my only lackluster State Fair sightings day of the last five years.
#22. I had about 10 blockbuster sightings at the State Fair in 2006, and this was one of the best of the best. Once again near the sightings-rich beer gardens, I turn the corner to see two long-haired 18-ish blondes pass me. They look remarkably similar in hairstyle and clothing (both wearing sexy black strap shirts and tight form-fitting blue jeans) and were either sisters or best friends who chose to look as much alike as possible. However, only one of the beautiful blondes was a smoker, caressing an all-white (likely Marlboro Light) in between her index finger and middle finger. Like any good stalker worth his weight in restraining orders, I had to follow these beauties as they progressed towards the grandstand area to a waiting middle-aged woman, likely the non-smoking mother of one or both of the girls, most likely the smoker who did 90% of the talking when she arrived. It was such a rush to see this 18-ish beauty casually dragging and exhaling only a couple feet in front of her non-smoking mother. The only thing that could have made this sighting better is if the other girl, who looked even more innocent and sweet, also lit up.
#21. In 2004, I'm near one of the several gates and happen to pass three very hot 18-21 chicks just walking in. I could see one of the girls, a white-hot blonde, had a cigarette between her fingers. Once they passed me, I did a 180-degree pivot and started following them. The blonde took a nice cheek-hollowing drag off her cylinder of tobacco and tar. At that point, the most amazing thing happened. The attractive brunette next to her leaned her right hand towards the blonde, who proceeded to hand her the cigarette, which she took an intense drag from. Awwwww.....isn't it sweet to have such sharing friends? Of course, nicotine will always be a girl's best friend.
