Who would have thought she smoked?

On Saturday, I went to Einstein Bros for a snack after my haircut. I sat at the table next to the door. At the table in front of me sat three women, a man, and a baby (well the baby was in a stroller). The three women included a younger woman, a mature woman and an elder woman. I'm guessing they are three generations -- the young woman, her mother, and her grandmother. After I begin to eat, the three women arise and pass by me heading to the door. And they are all carrying packs of cigarettes. They go out on the porch and light up. The grandmother wears a hat (like a sailor cap with the brim down and pulled back on her head) with gray curls showing, a long-sleeve blouse, jeans and sneakers. Mom wears a fitted T-shirt, capri pants and flip-flops. Daughter wears a tank top, capris and flip-flops. The mom and granma are smoking Winstons. I haven't seen a woman smoking Winston since over a year ago in Tallahassee. The young woman smokes Marlboro Light but she doesn't seem as aggressive as the two older ladies. They take hard drags and granma exhales out the corner of her mouth. There are frequent talking exhales as these women chatter. There's just a pane of glass between me and these three smoking ladies. The mother looks at me for a moment (was I staring?), briefly grins and returns to the conversation. The young lady has modest inhales. But by the time she finishes, the other two are already on their second smokes. The young lady puts out her stub in the ashtray and comes back inside. She goes to the table where Dad (I presume) and child were left. She cleans off the papers and Dad finishes his snack. Out they go. Mom and granma finish their smokes. The group heads to a van, loads up, and then Dad drives them away.
