43,000 showed up at the Dome last night. By all appearances at least 15,000 of them went about it as I did: showing up last minute and waiting their asses in line. I didn't sit down until bottom of three and it was still the best sporting event I'd attended in years -- since the random Saturday in June 2005 on which Doc sat down 27 of 30 Twins in about 2 hours flat. I've watched a great man pitch and not for the last time.
