The rule is, if you can look yourself in the mirror and say that you got it right, then award yourself the money. You might want to keep one of those pink plastic handheld salon mirrors* handy, in the likely event that you need to apply this test during gameplay.
* ie. what we sometimes used to use to quality-check our positive fades... unless you were like me and used the business side of the Extent Fanzine comp CD for that purpose.
