We don't like the play-offs do we!
Keeping our team intact is the priority now. And that includes Alan Irvine who has done a great job.
Assuming we keep Lonners and Sledge, midfield is the area of concern. I have been banging that drum since Greegs left. PNE legend Paul McKenna needs a hard man in midfield to help him. We had to move Wallace into the middle of the pitch last night and this blunted our attack.
The other assumption is that we will have money to spend on new faces. Like any other business, staying afloat is the priority for PNE at the moment.
All in all, a rollercoaster of a season that I really enjoyed. Highlights were the win at Gloomfield, the big Cup game v Liverpool, wins away to the big clubs, The Beast's last minute winner v. Brum! The play-off exit and our poor away form were the disappointments of the season.
With Lonners and Sledge at the back and The Beast up front we weren't a team to be taken lightly. Great team spirt has been instilled this season. This is the only season ever that I haven't been that worried if we went 1-0 down...that said why didn't we score in more games first?
Oh well, roll on next season. Could be worse: just ask Saints, Norwich or Charlton fan!
