North End are now desperate to sign a centre half after the injury setbacks pre-season. However, reports about David Weir arriving at Deepdale were wide of the mark, prior to him agreeing a new one year deal at Rangers. Weir's agent Dave Lockwood told me that at no time had PNE approached him to talk about a potential move to Deepdale. I am a sports journalist, and will keep the PNE Irish Supporters Club informed about any news throughout the 2008-09 season. So, watch this space.
