We have a Shiba Inu Named Yoshee. He is 17 months old and we have had him since October 09, 2001. He grew up with our three cats and he loves to chase them. But that isn't the problem. He has always been very aggressive and most of the time even as a puppy he would show his teeth when you touched his front paws. Well we thought he would mellow with age but the opposite is happening. An unexpected occurence has happened. My 51 year old sister became ill very quiclly and was diagnosed with multiple myleoma on 11/07/01. She died 01/03/02 and the week before she died I had to take her two cats. So now I have 5 cats and Yoshee. Since then he has changed. He now growls
when I try to clean his feet after being outside. If he is under the coffee table and you touch him he growls. He actually has bitten my daughter and my husband. We don't know what to do. We took him to the vet and he put him on pills twice a day two calm him down. That was Saturday it is now Friday 01/25/02. He said it could take six weeks to see any affect. I will not keep a mean dog and I am afraid for my cats now. Does any body have any suggestions? Please contact me I am at my wit's end. He was such a loveable dog and still can be most of the time. But I am sure he is overwhelmed with all the cats. Our house is very small and he stays in and is not tied up outside. Maybe that is what I should do. But then if I can't trust him I really can't keep him. Any suggestions? I can't get rid of my sister cats that is out of the question.
