Hello Fellow Lambson admirerers,
My folks lived in the same court as Les, as well as Carol S., back in the very early 1960's. My mother Maggie, a potter, and several other artists in the immediate neighborhood, and I do believe Les being one of them, launched the Fair Glen Art Festival in the court where we lived. It started with display tables of hand crafted goods, no doubt good wine in tow. Over four and one-half decades later, it has blossomed into the incredible annual event you find today.
I grew up with a unique retangular piece of Les', sporting amazing reds, oranges, and blacks. The image appears to be a panorama of what could be sunrise on the San Francisco Bay. To this day it makes my mouth water.
I too would like to find an appraiser for the piece, primarily for insurance reasons. I cannot imagine parting with this unique piece that parents acquired over forty years ago.
I will try and locate this elusive Mr. Jack Kennedy, or any other person with the credentials who may provide an appropriate appraisal.
Should anybody have more to add in this way, I'd welcome some names.
Respectfully yours,
Tom C.

: I find this thread of discussion quite
: interesting as Les Lambson was our next door
: neighbor in the early 1960s (San Jose, CA --
: Eichlers) and good friends with my parents
: throughout his life. I currently have
: several of his paintings as do my parents. I
: was in touch with Les by phone as recently
: as the early 1980s. I used to watch him
: create his paintings in his garage using all
: sorts of tools, knives, etc. The frames are
: beautiful too. His work was unique and
: timeless. I'd like to see more discussion of
: his work. My contact info is:
