I was looking on line to see if there was any information about James Arundel-Massey and saw your question.
I am originally from Chesterfield Derbyshire and to the best of my recollection the artist was from Chesterfield and exhibted widely in the locality.
I am now 55 and an old neighbour gave me, when I was a child, in about 1960 or so I suspect, a then new and contemporary 'Watercolour and Chinese White on tinted paper' of 'Peirot', or now said to be 'A study of a male ballet dancer'.
I still have family in Chesterfield, but older relatives, such as my Mum & Dad, who would have remembered more have died. Everyone there reads the Derbyshire Times (Station Road, Chesterfield) and an enquiry letter may give results.
