Kerres, Kerris, Kerries ........or something

My mother has 2 paintings ( a set ) by an artist and we are having trouble reading the name. The name looks like Kerres, Kerries or Kerris, but we're not sure. The paintings are of tall ships in a cove at sunset, so they are quite orangey. They were purchased about 25 years ago and cost quite a bit of money for that time. The nearest i can find when searching the internet is William Mclean Kerr and his paintings do look similar. Any help would be appreciated Kind regards
