My husband was lucky enough to inherit 3 original oils from his parents. Along with this was a write up on Les Lambson.
I do know that he acquired his painting techniques from two sources.
1st Paul Bonifas (European teacher)
2nd Shoji Hamada (whom the Japanese government bestowed title of National Living Treasure).
Les was born in Big Lost River Valley, Idaho in 1921. He served in the Navy in World War II.
He had several degrees in fine arts, art education and psychology. He also was a member of the faculities of California Western University.
As far as appraisals--- Make sure you are going to a reputable appraiser.
I can email copies of this article if anyone would like it. It most definitely will help in appraisal.
: My wife and I were the winning bidders of a
: beautiful Les Lambson original oil at a
: charity auction. We aren't having a lot of
: luck finding out his history. Any
: suggestions? Thanks in advance.
