As individuals we are not professional trainers (or anything even close to that), so we will need a horse that is forgiving of our mistakes that we will surely make. We will spend a lot of time at Public Relations events so a horse that enjoys hanging out with people makes it fun for all of us. The horse can be older or young as long as they are gentle and easy to train. Blemishes are OK, too. Being too slow is an asset! They also need to get along with other horses and will learn not to kick or get upset when crowded by horses or people. If you know of any horses that might fit this bill and need a home, please let us know and we can meet each other.

We are looking for one or two Standardbreds to adopt. Mare or gelding is fine, taller is better. We will be training them to use as Search & Rescue mounts which makes your donation tax deductable. They need to be sound enough (eventually) to walk ten miles and they should really like people. We will desensitize them to many scary things, but they need to have a calm, steady attitude to start with.
