I know of two Standardbreds, one mare and one gelding that have track injuries that have ended their racing careers. The mare would be a good broodmare prospect..she was a very successful racehorse. The mare is approximately, 15 hands, 9 years old and bay with a white star. She possibly has a hairline fracture in her right ankle bone. The gelding is 9?, pacer(mare is as well) bay with white star, nice conformation, 15.2 hands. The gelding bowed a tendon last night in a race. I have sat on his back before and he would be a possible riding horse prospect..if/when recovered from injury..both will need months of stall rest/turn out. I do not own these horses I only know of them and try to find horses good homes. Prices are most likely very negotiable. I have pictures of both horses that I can e-mail. No dealers please.
