O.G.B.C.A. ALL STATE 2008 in Weatherford May 30 & 31
Congratulations on the great Honor of being selected to this summers Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association, {OGBCA}, 2008 All-State Team! We are very excited in Weatherford to be your host and hope to make your time here memorable. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you or your parents might have.
I want to include some basic information:
1. You MUST notify your All-State Coach by May 1st if you are going to play. If you fail to notify your All State Coach by May 1st, you will be replaced. Coaches names and phone numbers are on included sheet.
2. There is a picture packet from Digital Express Photography. They will take your individual and Team pictures on Friday May 30 when your Team practices at Weatherford HS or when scheduled. They will take any extra pictures you might want, with your Coach, other teammates, etc. on Sat. May 31st.
3. There is an enclosed Team practice schedule. Each Team will get in 2 practices with the 1st one to include Team and Individual pictures at the beginning. All West Teams will have their 1st practice at 11:00am Each Team will have a Team MOM who will, hand out and pick up uniforms, help with check-in at the Dorm and assist your Team with any details or needs.
4. There is a mandatory meeting of all Players and Coaches at 12:00pm {noon}, in the Gym of Weatherford High School on Friday May 30th. So plan your travel accordingly.
5. Players will be housed in Oklahoma Dorm on the Campus of Southwestern State University, Friday night May 30th. You will be expected to be in the Dorm by 11:00pm. After the 12:00pm Mandatory meeting you will be taken to the Dorm to check in by your Team Mom. Please bring your own sheets, pillow and blanket.
6. All tickets for the Games may be purchased at the door.
7. We have 3 quality Motels acting as hosts for visitors. Please tell your parents and fans to contact these fine establishments: The Comfort Inn-580-772-9100---Holiday Inn Express, 580-774-0400 The Mark, Best Western, 580-772-3325
8. When you check in on Friday May 30th, your Team Mom will give you some very valuable shopping coupons to use at Downtown stores for Friday afternoons special All-State shopping extravaganza.
9. Please be prompt for all practices and meetings. Each Player will be given an All State lanyard and badge. This is a busy and fun weekend with many areas to enjoy and experience.
10. Each All-Staters will be responsible for obtaining sponsorship for their individual page in the All-State Program. The cost for a player or for two players from the same school is $300. You may each design your All-State page how ever you would like. There is an example enclosed. The page layout should be e-mailed directly to our printers at copiesandmore@sbcglobal.net If you don’t e-mail it you may mail it to me. The fee for your design must be sent to Coach Rick Wilson, Weatherford High School, 1500 N. Washington, Weatherford, Ok 73096 by May 15th. Those that fail to provide the info and funds will NOT have an individual page and will not be included in the Program. Please make all checks payable to OGBCA.
11. We will have an Athletic Trainer on call at all practices and games.
