I am currently taking new horses for hoof care. I only do a natural trim, which means no shoes. Basically, I trim the hoof to ware like it would naturally in the wild. This trim is not the same as a farrier trim but over time, in the right environment, can enable a horse to go without shoes for everyday riding.
